Guides for crusher, yard and lorry businesses

Practical guides for Indian stone crushers, sand and metal yards and tipper owners: CFT and brass conversion, cost per ton, weighbridge weights and vehicle profit.

CFT, brass, cubic metre and ton: converting sand and aggregate quantities

1 brass = 100 cubic feet (CFT) = 2.832 cubic metres (m³). To get tons, multiply cubic metres by the material's bulk density in tons per cubic metre — measure it for your own material, because it changes with moisture and grading.

How to calculate your crusher's cost per ton

Cost per ton = total production cost for a period ÷ tons produced in that period. Total cost includes the boulders consumed at their landed cost (with royalty and transport), power, diesel, labour, wear parts and other plant expenses.

Weighbridge gross, tare and net weight explained

Net weight = gross weight (the loaded lorry) − tare weight (the empty lorry). Weighing the same lorry both empty and loaded on the same trip gives the most reliable net weight.

How to calculate the profit of each tipper and lorry

Vehicle profit = what the vehicle earned (rent, hire charges or the margin on material it carried) − what it cost to run (diesel, driver BATA and salary, repairs, tyres, insurance, tax and permits, and loan interest).

RockPro vs Tally vs Excel for crushers, yards and fleets

Tally is general-purpose accounting software and Excel is a flexible spreadsheet. RockPro is built for crusher, yard and fleet operations with the accounts included, so weighbridge tickets, production, lorry-box measurements and trips post to the ledger automatically.
